Emotional Issues That Need to Be Addressed

One of the special things we get to experience as human beings are emotions. Emotions are a very strong part that makes us human.Emotions that we experience like joy, love, anger or even pain. are very strong feelings we experience.  But often times it is because we are so emotional we can get into trouble.

I would like to mention a couple of very charged emotions that may need someone professional to help with. They are depression and anger. Two emotions that are seemingly different are emotions that can cause major problems.  I have seen it first hand as a family counselor in San Diego.

It is a fact that both issues are big problems because both can be causes of violence. In situations such as anger, it sometimes leads to violence against other people. In situations of depression, the results can be use of violence against themselves.

When you are talking about anger it is a very volatile emotion. As I said earlier, it is an emotion that has to be taken control of.  Because as we well know a lot of people do bad things when they are angry.  It doesn’t have to be physical, it can also be emotional.  If that is the case you need to address it through anger management counseling.

Now in regards to depression, this is a dangerous problem as well.It is a dangerous problems, because sometimes you might not even know about it.  I mean you might not know if a loved one is experiencing depression.  When that happens, terrible things happen that weren’t expected.Problems like suicide.  I have seen it happen to often doing depression counseling.

If you know you are going through some depression, make sure you treat it quickly.  Because before you know it, it can go too far.The people you know and love may not even be aware of it.When that occurs it may be too late.So treat it early and quickly. It can be treated.

As you see emotions can be good.  But they also can cause problems.  By learning to deal with the problem emotions can be helpful.  Whether you do it by yourself or someone else, take care of it.

Addressing emotional concerns today

One unique thing about being human are the emotions we get to experience. Emotions are very powerful parts of being human.  Emotions such as love, joy, pain, anger, etc. are very powerful emotions we experience. But a lot of times it is due to the fact that we can get so emotional that it leads us into trouble.

I would like to mention a couple of very charged emotions that may need someone professional to help with.  They are anger and depression. Two emotions that are seemingly different are emotions that can cause major problems.  I have seen it first hand as a family counselor in San Diego.

It is a fact that both issues are big problems because both can be causes of violence. In situations such as anger, it sometimes leads to violence against other people. In problems like depression, the violence can end up being directed toward one’s self.

When you are addressing a situation like anger, it can be a very sticky situation. As I said earlier, it is an emotion that has to be taken control of.Because as you probably are already aware, people will do bad things if they are very angry.  It doesn’t have to be physical, it can also be emotional.  If that is the case you need to address it through anger management counseling.

Now in reference to depression, it is a dangerous situation in and of itself. It is a dangerous problems, because sometimes you might not even know about it.In others words you could possibly not even know when someone you love is going through depression.  When that happens, terrible things happen that weren’t expected.Problems like suicide.  I have seen it happen to often doing depression counseling.

If you feel you are experiencing depression, address it quickly.Because before you realize it, it might have already gone too far.Loved ones of yours could even possibly miss it and not be aware of it.  When that happens it can be too late.  So address it early. It can be fixed.

As you see emotions can be good. But problems can come about through them.  By learning to deal with the problem emotions can be helpful.  Whether you do it by yourself or someone else, take care of it.

Fix the fighting now

One of the best things we get to experience in our lives is relationships. From the wonderful experiences of family relationships to love relationships it is great. But in a few instances what was once good can turn bad.  What was once a source of joy and excitement can become hard and painful.

I have seen this first hand helping people in couples counseling San Diego. Wat had once been a very promising relationship is now a battleground.  What was once looking like a bright future now is so bleak. What occurred and what is there that can be done to fix it?

That is a huge question and one that will be difficult to answer.Every struggling relationship will have different sets of circumstance.  But my experience as a marriage counselor San Diego has shown me there are methods you can use to bring out good solutions.

One of the things that is helpful to them is by giving them a safe place to talk.In general when you try and fix the fighting in your own home for some reason it doesn’t work.By enabling them to feel safe in an environment allows them to get comfortable and helps them work things out.

Another benefit for the couple is that extra person will be another ear to hear them out.  But not just an ear but an impartial ear.  An ear that will listen to the issues and address them impartially.Accomplishing that can work miracles.  That third person can address the issues apart from a heated argument. When a couple is in the heat of the argument and they try to fix it, it usually won’t work.

Another thing to learn that can help the couple greatly is teaching them the benefits of listening to each other.  In my practice doing marriage counseling San Diego, I help them develop these skills. These skills teaches them how to listen to each other completely rather than being the one to always win their argument.

In doing this, they are really in a position to face the issue head on. Doing these few things in a rocky relationship can work wonders.I have seen it in action countless times as a marriage counselor.

What to look for in a marriage therapist

Life, so many good times, but also some hard times.  Kind of ironic that a source of great joy can also be a source of great pain.

Where else can you experience joys like love and friendship.  Or joys of family and friends. So much joys we experience you can’t keep track of them all.Where else except in life.

But also in this life you will have plenty of painful moments.  Pains such as death, sicknesses, or wars to name a few.One of those tough times will be a marriage going through troubles. What was meant to be a relationship full of joyful experiences into a painful one.

But there is hope.  Often times marriages can be saved through counseling.  In my experience a marriage counselor in San Diego I would like to help you in finding a good marriage counselor.

One of the hardest things for a couple or for anyone is to get help from  somebody. Most definitely something as private as a relationship in trouble.  So here are a few things to look for to find good marriage counseling San Diego.

First, counselors will have diverse styles and personalities.  When talking to a counselor ask about his counseling style.  You want to make sure it fits with your personality.

Second, marriage therapists can have training that is more specialized.  Of course when a couple has problems they are going to vary from one couple to the next.So you probably will want a counselor who has gone through situations like yours with other couples.

Finally, you want to see if your therapist in San Diego specializes in marriage counseling. There will be counselors who can help in many areas.  But you might want to find one who focuses on marital problems. They could have just the right experience to help you in your marriage.

For an issue as important as trying to help a troubled marriage you want to find the best counselor out there.Lastly the decision will be yours to make. You will probably want to hunt for a good counselor. But your desired outcome will be determined on how much you are willing to work on it.

Using Anger Management Counseling to Deal with Anger

Anger. One of most volatile emotions one feels. To some people, it just isn’t an emotion that consumes them.  It is maybe a slight irritation. It is something they are in control of.

For others, this can trigger intense fury and rage.  When that happens it gets out of control and turns destructive.  This leads to problems at work, in personal relationships, and in general their overall life.

A person who allows himself to get out of control is really controlled by this emotion and its unpredictableness.

The goal of anger management counseling is to reduce the emotional feelings the physical arousal that anger causes.

With my experience in anger management San Diego I would like to explore a couple of ways to control this emotion.

First thing you need to do is relax.  Some relaxation tools are deep breathing. You might also try to use images that are calming.Another tool is to use slow calming words to repeat to yourself.

Don’t just use these methods for when you are angry.  Try to make it a practice everyday if you feel you have an anger issue.

Second you have to change the way you think.Simply put, the anger may cause you to talk loudly, swear, and cause you to express yourself colorfully. These just express your inner thoughts. What you are going to have to do is change the angry irrational thoughts into more reasonable rational ones.

Instead of telling yourself how terrible or an injustice something is, try telling yourself it is not the end of the world.

Third, communication is something you have to try to do better. When a person gets in a heated discussion or gets angry, the communications often breaks down.  Rather than think about what they are going to say, they say whatever their emotions tell them to say.

Slow down so you can think about how you are going to communicate your thoughts.

Finally, a change in your environment might help.  A lot of times when we are angry or frustrated, just stopping and going someplace else can change our moods completely.

This change of environment might give you just enough quiet time to calm your emotions down and get that anger under control.

Although not all that we can say, these will be good pieces of advice to control anger.  If you find it does not, you will want to go get some professional help maybe with a family therapist San Diego.

Depression Counseling Advice

Depression is one of the strongest human emotions. If you leave this emotion untreated, those suffering from it severly could be lead to something more serious.

Everybody feels unhappy at times.  That is natural. But clinical depression is something much more than that.  It is a disease. But you can treat it.

I would like to offer some advice and tips that I have gained from my experience as a therapist in San Diego.

So when does depression become clinical depression?

First off, the person may feel as if they are hopelessly sad. This when someone feels like everything is pointless.  Or life is not worth living. Which might lead to suicidal thoughts and feelings.

This usual lasts for two weeks or more.  When you have depression that lasts that long, you are moving into the clinical depression state.

And when you get to that point, you need to see a counselor.  Do not leave your condition untreated when it hits that point.Take my word for it, I have learned this from my experience in depression counseling.

So once you find yourself at that point, there are several things you have to do. Because some depression is caused by imbalances in your body or the chemistry in your brain, you may need to treat it medically.  You would treat it with antidepressant drugs.

Of course as a counselor, I prefer to treat it through depression counseling.A counselor helps a person start to get to the root of their depression and come to grips with it.

They can use another form of therapy such as cognitive behavior therapy which addresses how you think.  The goal being to question your negative thoughts and turn them positive.

A counselor is also good in helping you use relaxation techniques. If the depression is stress related, a good way to fight stress is relaxation.

Most of all a depression counselor will be the most effective person to find out what is causing the depression.

They are good in finding out if there was something that happened recently that may cause this. They can look and see if there is something in the past that is causing this.Or they can try to see if something is going in your body that is causing it.  Whether it is some physiological change.

Depression is a treatable condition. But when you don’t know what caused it, you will not be able to treat it.This is why finding a good counselor or therapist will help a lot.
